EPO blood oxygenation

EPO (erythropoietin) is a peptide hormone that increases the number of red blood cells present in the blood. This increase in the number of red blood cells helps to oxygenate the muscles, prevent the appearance of lactic acid in the muscles, and also allows a prolonged exertion with greater ease (improved endurance).

EPO is used exclusively in endurance sports (cycling or marathon running for example) and is of little interest to bodybuilders.
