How to inject anabolic steroids (HCG and HGH are different)
All anabolic steroids, whether oil-based or water-based, should be taken intramuscularly. This means that the injection must penetrate the skin and into the subcutaneous tissue to enter the muscle itself. Intramuscular injections are used when a rapid absorption of the products is desired. The most common places for intramuscular injection are the buttocks, the lateral side of the thigh, and the deltoid region of the arm. The muscles of these areas, particularly the gluteal muscles, are fairly thick.
Because of the large number of muscle fibers and extensive fascia (fascia is a type of connective tissue that surrounds and separates muscles), the drug has a large surface area for absorption. Absorption is further enhanced by the large supply of blood to the muscles. Ideally, intramuscular injections are to be administered deep into the muscle away from nerves and major blood vessels.
The best place for steroid injections is in the gluteus medius muscle which is located in the upper outer quadrant of the buttock. The iliac crest serves as a landmark for this quadrant. The spot for an injection in adults is usually 7 1 / 2 centimeters (2 to 3 inches) below the iliac crest. The iliac crest is the top of the pelvic girdle on the posterior side. You can find the iliac crest by feeling the upper bone area above each gluteal muscle.
The upper outer quadrant is preferable because the muscle in this part is quite thick and contains few nerves. The probability of injecting the drug into a blood vessel is low in this area. The injection in this portion reduces the risk of injury to the sciatic nerve, which passes through the bottom and middle of the buttock. This nerve controls the posterior of each thigh and the entire leg from the knee. If an injection is too close to this nerve or actually touches, extreme pain and temporary paralysis can be felt in these areas. That is why we must stay as far away from this area as possible.
If for any reason it is impossible to inject in the gluteal region, the second choice is the side of the thigh. Usually, intramuscular injections in the thigh are only indicated for infants and children. This is the lateral muscle thigh area to be injected intramuscularly.
This part is determined using the knee and the greater trochanter of the femur as a landmark. The greater trochanter is the boney area that you can feel where the femur reached the pelvic girdle. The middle portion of the muscle is located by measuring the handbreadth above the knee and the palm below the greater trochanter. Injection into the front part of the thigh or inside of the thigh is extremely unwise. These areas contain nerves and a number of blood vessels.
What needles to use?
It is important to choose the proper syringe for the administration of injectable anabolic steroids. The main components of a syringe comprises a cylindrical body and a piston to which is fixed a hollow needle. The recommended syringe injections of anabolic steroids is a syringe of size 22 [1 ½ inches] or size 23 [1 inch] with body of 3 cc.
This length allows deep penetration to reach the interior of the muscle tissue. Shorter needles, 5 / 8 or 1 ½ are generally not sufficient for intramuscular injections.
The size of the caliber of a syringe represents the diameter of the needle. The smaller the number, the wider the needle. An 27 needle is very thin. An 18 caliber is quite large, it is often referred to as a "cannon". Both 22 and 23 templates are thin enough to be easy to insert, and large enough to allow solutions to be powered.
- Glute injection: 23 of size 1,5 inch needle length
- Thigh Injection: 25 gauge 1 inch of needle length
- Deltoid injection: 25 size of 1 inch needle length
There are a number of steps that must be followed to conduct a safe and proper intramuscular injection. First, before handling needles or vials, the user must take a full shower. Then an alcohol swab should be used to clean the injection site and another alcohol swab should be used to clean the rubber stopper on the top of the bottle. Then, take a new syringe, remove the upper part of the plastic, draw approximately 2 ccs of air into it and insert it into the bottle of your anabolic product. Inject this air into the vial, which will create pressure in the bottle and make the drawing of oil-based preparations easier. Then turn the vial head down and slowly pull the oil until you have at least 1 / 4 cc.
For example, if someone were to take an injection of 1 cc, they should draw about 1 1 / 4 css to 1 1 / 2 css of liquid. Then tap on the side of the syringe to help air bubbles that were drawn into the syringe back up. At this time, the excess 1 / 4 to 1 / 2 cc may be injected into the vial and the needle removed.
Then, hold the needle-less syringe head up and continue tapping to encourage any future air bubbles in the top of the syringe. Now, exchange the needle with a new one. The needle does not suffer any damage when pushed through the rubber plunger on the vial. It is important not to touch this needle before injection. It should not come into contact with a counter or your fingers, it should not be cleaned with alcohol.
This needle is sterile and should not be touched. At this point, once again swab the injection site with alcohol, then press the plunger of the syringe by holding the needle on the side, until the air bubbles completely exit. Once a drizzle of oil appeared at the top of the needle, allow it to flow to the surface of the needle to ensure lubrication.
At this point, take the syringe and hold it like a dart. Use the other hand to stretch the skin over the injection area and then push the needle until it penetrates. After inserting deep enough into the muscle, pull the plunger for a few seconds to make sure it does not fill with blood, which would indicate that the needle was injected into a blood vessel.
If there is no blood in the syringe, slowly press the plunger until all the oil is injected. Then, quickly pull the needle out and take another alcohol swab and press firmly on the injection area. This will minimize bleeding, if any. Pressing down firmly on the injection area and massaging slightly can reduce the pain. It is important that the liquid is not injected too quickly as this causes more pain upon injection and in the days that follow.
Once this step is completed, return the plastic caps to protect the needles and make sure they are properly stored (and then discard or return to your pharmacist). To prevent excessive scar tissue on the injection area, it is not wise to inject more than 2 ccs by solution. It is also not prudent to use the same injection site more than twice a week (once a week is better).
Tips and preparations
- Warm the vial or ampoule to body temperature before injection. You can do this by placing it under your arm for about five minutes or placing the bottle in hot water.
- Just before injection, push the plunger to allow a drop of liquid to form on the tip of the needle and let it flow over the needle. This will lubricate the needle with the oil solution of your anabolic steroid.
- Arrange the end of the needle (open V) to the upper body.
- If you wish, you can numb the injection area with ice before proceeding.
